Amicus Wines Reserve Shiraz is rich with an intense crimson colour and an aroma of plum, cedar and blackcurrant.
Approximately 25% of the red wine was run off skins to complete fermentation in barrel. The remainder received additional maceration to extract further ripe tannins from the skins. Finally, the wine was racked off skins into settling tanks then into new and one year old American and French oak barrels and matured for 18 months resulting in the creation of the rich and flavoursome Amicus Wines Reserve Shiraz.
Amicus is the venture of three friends: Amanda Vanstone, Robert Hill and Walter Clappis, well known Winemaker and bon vivant. Amicus Winery is based in McLaren Vale, one of South Australia's leading wine districts. Grapes for the label are sourced vineyards in McLaren Vale and the Langhorne Creek wine growing district.
