Amicus Wines Shiraz Cabernet Malbec is an impressive Australian red wine - brilliant in colour, vivacious in character with a long, lingering finish.
The three varieties, grown in the Langhorne Creek wine growing district of South Australia, were blended together and then matured in both French and American oak Barriques for 18 months to come of age. In keeping with the Amicus hand-made tradition, the wine was fermented in open, concrete fermenters and pressed in a Zambelli basket-press.
The blending of these three varieties together has given Amicus Wines Shiraz Cabernet Malbec a multi-dimensional complexity and a velvety softness. The wine is composed of 60% Shiraz, 30% Cabernet and 10% Malbec. All of these flavours combine to deliver a wholesome mouth-feel that lingers long after the wine has been swallowed.
The colour is deep red-magenta with purple hues. The bouquet exhibits an array of fruits from cherry berry to peppery, plumb characters which are derived from the Shiraz and Cabernet components, whilst the Malbec imparts an abundance of spice. The palate is full, flavoursome and rich, yet has an attractively soft and velvety finish.
