Since the purchase of Chateau Leonay in 1945, Leo Buring has built an unparalleled reputation for quality Riesling production in the Clare Valley. In 2002 the winery returned to its roots, making only riesling. Of all the grape varietals Riesling is the one that is most expressive of its regional source. Minute changes in soil, climate and aspect are directly reflected in the avours found in the final wine.
Winemaker Oliver Crawford has worked closely with the Leo Buring viticulturists to identify the best vineyards, and literally the best rows in those vineyards. Stable temperatures and cool nights up to harvest, allowed complex flavours develop. Bottled immediately after blending to maintain maximum freshness.
